The first visit will typically be 45-60 minutes in length, and is aimed towards understanding the condition you are presenting with, while building a therapeutic relationship. The first visit will typically include a comprehensive health history and a thorough physical examination. Assessment findings, as well as an individualized treatment plan will be discussed with you, allowing you to be more involved in your care. Treatment is often provided on the first visit.

Treatment options are tailored to your individual needs, and can include:

  • Manipulation (spinal and extremity)

  • Mobilizations

  • Soft tissue therapy

  • Acupuncture

  • Rehabilitative exercises

  • Ongoing education

Subsequent visits will be shorter in length, and can last anywhere between 20-40 minutes, depending on the severity of your condition.

As an adjunct modality to chiropractic care, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture involves inserting a thin, sterile needle into the body to modulate the nervous system. It involves stimulating muscles, nerves, and blood vessels, with or without electricity, to induce physiological changes for therapeutic benefit.

How acupuncture can help you:

  • Decreases pain

  • Increases blood flow

  • Relaxes muscles

  • Promotes tissue healing

  • Increases strength

Active care is a form of treatment that compliments chiropractic care, and is aimed at reducing the recurrence of pain and dysfunction. Rehabilitative exercises will facilitate recovery, while “pre-habilitative” exercises will prevent injuries from arising.

Exercises are targeted towards strengthening and/or stabilizing areas of weakness that may be contributing to your pain. As exercises become easier, we will continue to challenge your progress by incorporating proprioceptive exercises that challenge your balance, increasing weight, and adding more complex movement.

Our goal is to give you the tools to succeed and help you return to sport, or just the daily activities that you enjoy doing!

How you can benefit from active care:

  • Increase strength

  • Improve mobility

  • Enhance muscular endurance

  • Address muscular imbalances

During the entire length of your pregnancy, your body goes through tremendous amounts of changes as it is preparing for the arrival of your baby. You may notice aches and pains start to arise in various parts of your body.

Chiropractic care at this time can help alleviate those discomforts, putting you at ease through the course of your pregnancy. Studies have shown that it can also decrease the incidence of postpartum-related back pain as well.

The examination process will be similar to that of a regular chiropractic examination, but the treatment plan will be modified to adapt to your needs.

Treatment options include:

  • Gentle mobilizations/manipulation

  • Soft tissue work to alleviate round ligament and broad ligament pain, and other tight musculature

  • Strengthening exercises

  • Specialized taping techniques to decrease pain and improve lymph drainage

  • Ongoing education

Perinatal Care

Postnatal care goes beyond the 6-week check up with your OB and midwife. Your body goes through tremendous change throughout pregnancy, but it doesn’t just “bounce back”.

Our goal is to provide you with the recovery you need to reduce the risk of common postpartum complications such as low back pain, core dysfunction, incontinence, and pelvic pain, while giving you the ongoing emotional support you need throughout your healing.

The examination process will be similar to that of a regular chiropractic examination, with an emphasis on the core musculature and the diastasis recti. The treatment plan will be modified to adapt to your needs.

Treatment may include a combination of:

  • Strengthening exercises of core musculature

  • Gentle mobilizations/manipulation

  • Soft tissue therapy to tight musculature

  • Ongoing education

As a GrowCo ambassador, I also offer small group rehabilitative classes. This will give you the opportunity to connect with other new mamas and support one another on your new journey! Click here to learn more.
